InventHelp® Client Invents Mobility Aid to Assist Caregiver in Moving a Disabled Individual Easily

This invention is patented, and a prototype is available.

The "EZ-Lift" would be ideal for use with disabled individuals, or those individuals requiring home care. The invention would make it easier for a caregiver to perform necessary tasks, and could help to provide comfort for the disabled individual while being transported.

The invention would be made from steel tubing, and would feature spring-loaded push buttons for size adjustments. The base would be u-shaped, featuring non-skid material along the sides. The device would include four wheels, two carpet rollers on the base and two large pivoting wheels to easily transport the EZ-Lift. A padded, u-shaped crutch support would be connected to the base via a long, hinged arm. The lifting support would include two safety straps positioned across the patient's back and shoulders to limit movement. Attached to the lifting bracket is an electrical screw-drive jack that is powered by a 12-volt battery. The EZ-Lift is intended for use by patients up to 300 lbs., and the design could be modified to help move the patient to and from a vehicle.
