The United Arab Emirates has a new, free classified ads site in the shape of WebSouq.com (http://www.websouq.com), a place where UAE residents can buy and sell everything from a multimillion dollar beach-front home in Dubai, to a kettle for the kitchen.

The new shopping portal soft launched in mid-May and is already attracting impressive visitor figures, said George Hopkin, CEO of Pressventures FZE, the company behind WebSouq.com.

“We’re very happy with WebSouq.com’s clean, user-friendly interface and hope it will become the first port of call for UAE residents when they want to buy or sell online,” said Hopkin.

WebSouq.com users can browse and post ads to more than 350 categories. Each ad can include a photograph and is held in WebSouq.com’s database for 30 days. Users can renew ads for an additional 30 days before they expire.

Local businesses are also encouraged to post to the site, explained Hopkin. “WebSouq.com’s text ads can create an excellent, cost-free web marketing campaign for smaller UAE companies who haven’t previously thought about advertising online.”
