(PRWEB) June 22, 2009 -- Discover the good news about Israel now! Tune in to Yad Sarah's newly launched YouTube channel and connect with the UN-recognized Israeli humanitarian organization which has traveled the world providing expertise to other nations, teaching them how to upgrade their homecare services for disabled, elderly and homebound people in their own countries

Viewers will see Israeli society at its best - thousands of people devoting their time and energy to those who need help, regardless of ethnicity or religion. This is how Israel has been able to survive in a pressured environment, through the altruistic efforts of its people who find value and purpose in each person's life. For those whose knowledge of Israel is limited to images displayed on cable news programs, even a quick visit will enlighten, refresh and inform.

Video clips feature activities of volunteers who devote their time and talents to serving elderly, disabled and homebound people. At Yad Sarah House in Jerusalem, a daily rehab program for the neurologically impaired includes music therapy, arts and crafts, cooking classes, gardening, and excursions in a social environment which rehabilitates the spirit as well as the body.

Yad Sarah brings greater meaning and quality of life not only to the people it serves, but to its volunteers as well. Volunteers - who may be elderly themselves - look forward to coming to the more than 100 Yad Sarah centers throughout the country. They are encouraged by the warmth and appreciation for their work and the satisfaction derived from contributing to the quality of life of people in need. If images of Israel in the international media seem dismaying, tune in to Yad Sarah's brand new YouTube Channel and learn about the untold story.

Free short-term loans of medical and rehabilitative equipment to anyone in Israel (including tourists) regardless of ethnicity or religion is Yad Sarah's most well-known service. A stock of 250,000 items - from crutches and wheelchairs to oxygen concentrators and electronic monitors supplies 103 branches staffed by more than 6,000 volunteers throughout the country. Lesser known are the wide range of services for new mothers, infants, special children and the homebound. Yad Sarah also offers a free medical information service, called Daat.

In addition, Yad Sarah's Travel Services Department enables the physically challenged to visit Israel. By arrangement assistive devices are lent and transportation provided in specially-equipped YadSardSaraVans to and from Ben Gurion International Airport. Full information at www.yadsarah.org.
