On April 2, 2005, Hayley Mills addressed the Girl Scouts, Arizona Cactus-Pine Council, at their first annual ÂPollyanna Days celebration. More than 1200 Girl Scouts, their leaders, and families were in attendance. HayleyÂs discussion focused on the importance of positive values. She also spoke about her close relationship with her family, her career, and she shared memories of her performance in the Walt Disney motion picture Pollyanna, for which she received an Oscar. The audience just adored the Hayley of today and listened intently when she spoke about good values, education, and family. It will be Lisa Titmas, vested Junior Girl Scout troop leader of the Arizona Cactus-Pine Council who will travel to New York to conduct Miss Mills investiture into the Girl Scouts. Hayley Mills rocketed to stardom in 1960 when Walt Disney cast the twelve year old British actress in the starring role of his classic motion picture ÂPollyanna. Miss Mills was awarded a special Oscar by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for her portrayal of the Âalways optimistic young lady. At the same time, she found a place in the hearts of moviegoers worldwide.
