Matthew P. Murphy has joined the military-to-civilian recruiting firm RecruitMilitary, LLC, as Vice President of Business Development. RecruitMilitary helps find civilian jobs for men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, veterans with a wide range of business experience, members of the reserve forces and National Guard, and military spouses. Since 2004, Murphy has advised a roster of small and mid-sized companies on business growth. Before that, he was Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Acquisition Management Services, Inc. (“AMS”), a Philadelphia-area consulting firm that works the buy side on mergers and acquisitions. During his tenure there, Murphy led more than 100 due diligence engagements and was responsible for new business development. Prior to joining AMS, he was an in-house attorney for the University of Pennsylvania Health System, where he supported the system’s network development and corporate growth activities.

Murphy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Science and Technology from Rochester Institute of Technology and a Juris Doctorate from the State University of New York at Buffalo. During the period between his undergraduate and legal studies, he was a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, Murphy served on the USS Hepburn (FF-1055) as the Gunnery Officer, Command Information Center Officer, and ultimately as Navigator.

RecruitMilitary was founded in 1998 as a contingency hiring firm specializing in the placement of junior military officers—lieutenants and captains in the Army, Air Force, and Marines; ensigns and lieutenants in the Navy and Coast Guard.
