Words First Mans Band

The scene is set for a battle of the charts - Men Vs Boys.

ManBand Finals

The final audition for the worlds first mans band will be held in Birmingham.

The 15 Minutes agency launched the ManBand project as a reaction to the

constant flood of boy bands dominating the pop charts.

An ad for male performers over 50 years old attracted over 5,000 applicants

from as far away as South America and Australia. The first audition, held in

London last month, was filmed by national and international news crews.

The final audition will be held at Ronnie Scotts club in Birmingham on

Saturday 19th May. The audition, which will be broadcast live over the

internet, will decide the members of the worlds first mans band.

The audition will be judged by Roy Hemmings (of The Drifters), Kim

Dolphin (singer and mother of Richie from boy-band 5ive) singer song-writer

Cliff Nash (married to Maizie Williams of Boney M) and royal artist Sharon Gee.

15 Minutes director Kizzi Nkwocha said: The world-wide response to ManBand

has been phenomenal.

The band will make musical history and perhaps

change the way the record industry views older performers."
