WiredLess Networks™ Scores 2nd Place Win! Competes Against 15 of the Top Startup Companies in Mississippi Walt Runkis, CEO of WiredLess Networks, Inc. wins 2nd place in Mississippi Technology Alliance Innovation Contest for BitSpray™ ultra-secure storage and accelerated delivery of digital information over digital networks. US patent filed May 29, 2009. Canton, Mississippi (PRWEB) June 6, 2009 Twenty seven companies in 3 divisions presented their top innovations and business plans to be judged by a panel of the state's leading entrepreneurs and investors at the Mississippi Technology Alliance's 2nd Annual Mississippi Business Plan Competition. WiredLess Networks™ won 2nd place in the Open Division. Walt Runkis, WiredLess Network's CEO, accepted the trophy that evening at the Annual Innovator's Hall of Fame Awards Gala. The Gala is an annual black tie-optional event held by the Mississippi Technology Alliance to honor Mississippi's most distinguished companies and innovators. The event also inducted four luminaries into the Innovator's Hall of Fame.
Walt Runkis pioneered the use of hybrid multi-technology network architecture for building ubiquitous, high-speed, wired and wireless, ultra-broadband digital networks. The company he founded on October 6, 2008, WiredLess Networks, Inc., has a 10-year network deployment agreement with Canton Municipal Utilities to build the world's first fully functional hybrid communications network in Canton, Mississippi. John Wallace, CMU's General Manager, recently granted WiredLess™ permission to test all of their future technology on Canton's Electric Grid. As it turns out, this privilege came at just the right time. On March 18th, Walt Runkis and Bert Massey, WiredLess Network's Chief Operating Officer, flew to Washington DC to meet with Don Martin, an IBM Fellow who is expert in data storage and security technologies. During that meeting, Walt and Don co-invented the basic technology behind BitSpray™, the ultra-secure, data storage and acceleration technology. A patent was filed to protect BitSpray on June 1st. When asked to describe the benefits of the new invention, Walt commented: "BitSpray will impact both commercial and military markets. The first version is a software technology that randomizes information at the bit level (zeros and ones) while simultaneously accelerating data transmissions to speeds up to 400% faster than those achievable using today's network technology." Walt went on to speculate that in the near future we will no longer need to back up our hard drives since all the information can be rapidly and safely mirrored offsite in real time. "In fact," he said, "once people start using this new technology, they will not want any information stored in their laptops and PCs. Using BitSpray makes it safer to store and use information 'on the cloud,' where no one can steal it, than in their own computer." Walt went on to say, "This is truly Tomorrow's Information Paradigm™." WiredLess Networks, Inc. has developed a proprietary suite of network deployment, security, and bandwidth acceleration products to provide ultra-secure storage and accelerated delivery of information and content over digital networks.
