Long Island Charity Fundraiser to be Held at Residence Inn Long Island Hauppauge/Islandia Hotel

Residence Inn Long Island Hauppauge/Islandia hotel has rallied with local community to host a Long Island fundraiser to benefit a teacher of Autistic children diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease.

Hauppauge, NY (PRWEB) June 7, 2009 -- The Long Island community is once again gathering together to help one of its own as the "Support For Eric" community fundraiser will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2009 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Residence Inn Long Island Hauppauge/Islandia hotel in Long Island, NY. Come out to this charity event on Long Island to benefit an important member of our community while spending time with your family and loved ones.

Eric Bjorklund is a 40-year-old husband and father of two who was recently diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare and fatal genetic disease that has forced him to retire from his job as a teacher for children affected by Autism.

The Residence Inn Long Island Hauppauge/Islandia hotel will be the host for the "Support For Eric" community benefit on Sunday, June 14, 2009 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. There will be no entrance fee to this Hauppauge fundraiser, but there will be a number of activities designed to raise proceeds for the Bjorklund family including:

•    Children's Activities such as a Karaoke station, face painting and tattoos, sand art, jewelry making, etc. (donations are requested per activity)

•    A Mini Flea Market featuring clothing, jewelry, Autism Awareness items, baked goods, and more

•    A Chinese Auction (where raffles are sold for particular items) including a wine tasting at a Long Island Winery, gift baskets, personalized lessons, and much more
