Certified Infant Swimming Resource Instructor Will Explain Training

Chestnut Ridge, NY (Vocus) June 8, 2009 -- On Saturday, July 11th at 2pm, certified Infant Swimming Resource (www.infantswim.com) (ISR) instructor Keri Tom will give a live demonstration of infant swimming self-rescue techniques with trained infants/toddlers at B&B Pool and Spa Center (www.bbpoolandspa.com)'s showroom in Chestnut Ridge, NY. This unique presentation is free and open to the public.

ISR is a comprehensive infant swimming education and self-rescue skill instruction method. With the proper training, infants as young as six months learn to hold their breath under water, roll onto their back, and float unassisted. The training also teaches these self-rescue techniques to children from one to six years old. In addition, the older children learn to swim with their head down, roll over to take a breath, and resume swimming to the edge of a pool.

One mother's personal story truly demonstrates the value of ISR: My 22-month-old daughter, Margaret, used her skills tonight in a real world situation. She was on the pool deck, leaned a little too far, and fell in headfirst. Before we made it over to her, she had surfaced, rolled over to her back, and was floating like a champ. She was fully clothed and the water was not heated, but she was totally fine once we got her dried off. We were so proud of her for using her skills and it certainly reassured us that we did the right thing in having her go through ISR lessons.

Ms. Tom will have children who are already trained in the ISR method demonstrate how the techniques work. She will explain the ISR program and be available afterwards to answer any questions.
