Author of Book on Fatherhood Wins First Place Humor Book Award

Jared Fiel, author of "Fumbling Thru Fatherhood" won first place in humor books at the Colorado Independent Publishers Association (CIPA) EVVY Book Awards event held June 11, 2005.

Denver, CO (PRWEB) June 15, 2005 -- "Fumbling Thru Fatherhood" by Jared Fiel was honored with a First Place finish in the Humor category during the 11th annual Colorado Independent Publishers Association (CIPA) EVVY Awards which were announced Saturday, June 11, during CIPAs annual awards ceremony in Denver.

"Fumbling Thru Fatherhood", published by ATJA Books, is a collection of humorous stories written by Fiel, a Colorado author and newspaper columnist. The stories cover six years of fatherhood from the first ultrasound to the day his oldest son begins kindergarten.

Lydia Griffin, chair of the awards, said "Fumbling Thru Fatherhood" was one of the top-rated books in the contest, which honors books from independent publishers throughout the state in several categories. Three judges reviewed each book and results were compiled from the aggregate ratings.

One of the judges wrote about "Fumbling Thru Fatherhood," "Fiel's wry sense of humor is great and his fluid, easy prose makes this a fun read."

Another judge wrote, "It will delight anyone ... who has ever dealt with young children."

The timing of the award was especially sweet for Fiel. "It came a week early, but this is one heck of a Father's Day gift," he said.
