Equivio Announces Version 2.0 of Near-Duplicate Detection Software

Equivio version 2.0 includes API for third-party integration, innovative email support and enhanced performance

Equivio, a provider of enterprise-grade software for detection of near-duplicate files, has announced the general availability of Equivio 2.0. By grouping near-duplicates, Equivio creates order in unstructured data sets, such as legal discovery repositories, intelligence data, or sets of documents retrieved by search engines. Equivio presents the user with groups of similar documents, rather than unstructured lists of individual documents. This capability slashes the time workers need to spend searching, reading and analyzing documents. In business scenarios involving the review of large document repositories, as in litigation or compliance processes, the result is significantly lower cost, time and risk or error.

Equivio 2.0 is offered with a detailed application programming interface (API) to enable third-party integration in OEM mode. Customer beta testing of the API has shown how the near-duping capability can be smoothly integrated into the standard workflow of legal discovery and intelligence collection and analysis processes. Using the API allows, for example, providers of litigation support software and online review tools to present search results as clustered groups of near-duplicate documents, rather than as long, random lists of unrelated files.

Equivio 2.0 also supports an innovative approach to analyzing near-duplicates in emails, allowing the user to view near-duplicates at multiple levels: the body of the email, email attachments, and as the combined message entity, including both body and attachments. In addition, Equivio 2.0 includes significant performance enhancements designed to facilitate handling of the largest litigation scenarios in the industry.
