Recent Ebates.com Survey Reveals 2009 Father's Day Shopping Trends How are people spending this Father's Day? Has the recession had an influence on celebrating dear, old dad? What gifts will be the hottest this year? That's exactly what Ebates.com set out to reveal when they surveyed their customers about Father's Day shopping trends for 2009. (Vocus) June 16, 2009 -- How are people spending this Father's Day? Has the recession had an influence on celebrating dear, old dad? What gifts will be the hottest this year?
That's exactly what Ebates.com set out to reveal when they surveyed their customers about Father's Day shopping trends for 2009. You might be surprised to know that despite the recession, 25% of Ebates.com members plan on spending in excess of $100.00 on their Father's Day gifts. A special dinner and clothing were among the hottest ways to show poppa's some appreciation and luckily for the folks planning on eating out, the father's we surveyed pushed dinner on-the-town as to the top of their wish lists.
The bad news for dad is that although 25% were hoping for some techie gadget, only about 10% of Ebates shoppers were planning on purchasing a power tool or computer/software present. That wasn't the only bummer - 24% of folks say they celebrate Mother's Day more to only 4% that said Father's Day carries more influence in their households so it came as no surprise that 26% of people spend more on Mother's Day while only 6% drop more dough for dad.
The good news for everyone surveyed is that they are all Ebates (http://www.ebates.com/) members. That means that no matter what or where they buy, they'll get the best deals on the Web and cash back on every Father's Day purchase (or any purchase) they make. In celebration of Father's Day, top retailers like the Home Depot, Hewlett Packard, Sony, Sears, Cabela's, Radio Shack, Omaha Steaks, SnapFish, the Home Shopping Network, and Dell have increased their Ebates offers, enticing customers with up to 15% cash back. The entire survey results are below.
