Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) June 17, 2009 -- InventHelp®, America's leading inventor service company, announces that one of its clients, an inventor from Hayfork, Calif., has designed an eye-catching outdoor accessory that would house bell-shaped seed cakes. This invention is patented and a prototype is available.

While seed bells are designed to hang independently from tree limbs or feeder poles, their down side is that they are constantly exposed to the elements and they can leave a mess on the ground. The "Seedbell Birdfeeder" would offer a solution to both these problems. This accessory would provide bird lovers with a decorative way to display a seed bell that also would protect it from inclement weather and eliminate yard mess. The Seedbell Birdfeeder would be suitable for placement (or hanging) in a variety of lawn and garden areas, and could aid in preserving a seed bell for a longer period of time. The inventor also has observed that the invention may help to keep squirrels away from seed bells.

Producible in a variety of sizes and colors, the Seedbell Birdfeeder would consist of a plastic housing for a seed bell (similar in appearance to the top of a bell tower). The housing would be designed to resemble the outline of a bell, with a sloped roof over the top and an indented circular bottom. On the roof of the housing's interior would be a small hook where a person could hang a seed bell. Another hook on the top of the exterior would allow the accessory to be hung from a tree branch or other device. Once a seed bell is hung inside and the feeder is placed outdoors, the roof would shield the bell from rain and wind while the circular bottom would collect any fallen seeds. The inventor notes that the Seedbell Birdfeeder could be made from multiple plastic parts designed to quickly snap together for easy assembly.
