Web Innovation and Strategy Are Key in the 2009 New Media Web Awards

The deadline for submitting Web sites in the 2009 New Media Web Awards has been extended to June 26.

(PRWEB) June 16, 2009 -- The New Media Institute's (NMI) 2009 New Media Web Awards has received an incredible array of Web site entries spanning demographics, industry, product, purpose, and altruistic perspectives, as well as an astounding cost range. It is clear that Web innovation and strategy are key to being rated best of the best.

"The sophistication, diversity of purpose and message has expanded exponentially in the last few years. However, it has finally become clear that the dollar amount spent on a Web site is not the arbiter of excellence," explained Barbara Eber-Schmid, Executive Vice President of the New Media Institute. Web sites that have been developed on shoe string budgets can compete with the six figure entries.

The 2009 New Media Web Award Competition (http://www.newmediaawards.org) opened for entries in early April. Entries can be submitted for nomination until the extended deadline of June 26, 2009 at 5:00 pm.

Unlike many competitions, finalists are NOT selected based solely on design, but how well they are using this technology to serve and communicate to their audience. Most importantly, the size of an organization or Web site is not a consideration in judging.

Benefits of Winning:

* Validation - You will know that your Web site is recognized as an outstanding use of new media in communications. Your employer, clients, competition and the general public will know what you have accomplished and you will receive the credit that is so well deserved.

* Media Exposure - The New Media Institute releases the winners of each category of entry to the media. Entrants will also receive a press release tailored to their entry that can be added to their site and released to the media.

* NMA Web Seal and Link - All entrants, finalists and winners will receive image seals that can be placed on their Web site. The seal will link directly to an entire page dedicated to their project on newmediaawards.org, including description of their project, link to their project or sponsoring company/agency, and image of their project.

The competition is sponsored by PRWeb (www.PRWeb.com), ANXDI (http://www.annexedinteractive.com), Campbell Solberg Insurance (http://www.csainsurance.com), and CyberSecure Technologies (http://www.cybersecuretech.com).
