Addiction Relapse Specialist Terence T. Gorski Accepts Position at Challenges Addiction Treatment Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Gorski's new role as Director of Relapse Prevention Services will immerse him in a clinical environment where he can advance his treatment models, though he will still maintain his role as President, Founder and Trainer for the CENAPS Corporation and retain his offices in Spring Hill, Florida.

Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) June 23, 2009 -- Addiction (http://www.challenges-program.com/addiction_treatment.aspx) relapse specialist Terence T. Gorski has accepted a position of Director of Relapse Prevention Services at Challenges Treatment Center, http://www.challenges-program.com, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Challenges specializes in the treatment (http://www.challenges-program.com/relapse_prevention.aspx) of individuals with a history of chronic relapse from addiction and co-occurring mental health and psychiatric disorders. Challenges and Gorski have maintained a professional relationship on a consulting basis for more than 10 years.

In connection with that consulting relationship, Challenges was nationally certified by Gorski and his company CENAPS some years ago as a "Center of Excellence" for Relapse Prevention. The latest collaboration between Challenges and Gorski is taking their relationship to a new level, with Gorski now a full time member of the Challenges treatment staff, assuming the newly created position of Director of Relapse Prevention Services as of May 13, 2009.

Asked about this new affiliation Gorski said, "I am excited to accept the position of Director of Relapse Prevention Services at Challenges in Fort Lauderdale. As a result, Challenges is the only program in the country where I will directly oversee the relapse prevention treatment for clients. I have an office at Challenges and can be contacted at 888-755-3334 regarding referrals for treatment. I will still maintain the CENAPS offices in Spring Hill, Florida, and my role as President, Founder and Trainer for the CENAPS Corporation. I will continue doing select conference presentations and conducting advanced clinical skills training workshops, but I will be reducing the number of training days to accommodate my responsibilities at Challenges. I will also continue to write and publish books, workbooks and recover manuals."

Additionally, Gorski said, "I decided to accept the role of Director of Relapse Prevention Services at Challenges because this position offers me the clinical environment that will provide the experiences I need to bring the CENAPS model to its next level of development."

Dale Redlich, Founder of the Challenges program, expressed his approval. "Our entire staff is very excited to have the opportunity to work with a behavioral healthcare professional of Mr. Gorski's reputation and stature on a day to day basis at our facility. The fact that Mr. Gorski will now be intimately working with our patients daily and adding his expertise to our staff will no doubt ensure that our patients will be receiving the highest possible quality of care, which is our main goal."

Gorski says among the reasons why he chose Challenges for this new expanded affiliation was because of Challenges' long history of providing relapse prevention services to clients who are addicted to many different drugs, and who also have a wide range of co-occurring behavioral and mental health problems. "Challenges has highly skilled clinical staff members, many of whom are Certified Relapse Prevention Specialists who have been adapting the relapse prevention methods to this difficult population for years. Challenges pioneered an innovative model of combining day treatment and intensive outpatient treatment with supervised sober living. Challenges is also heavily involved in the community, providing an opportunity to extend the concept of relapse prevention beyond the walls of the treatment center."

Challenges, http://www.challenges-program.com, is considered to be on the cutting edge of advanced therapeutic models for the prevention of relapse from addiction. The addition of an expert to its treatment team such as Terence Gorski, who has long been considered to be the father of Relapse Prevention Therapy in this country, will only have the effect of further cementing the reputation of Challenges as one of the leading treatment facilities in this country for individuals suffering from a history of chronic relapse.
