De Santos Gallery Presents “The Lure of Water” Saturday July 2nd – Saturday July 30th - Lush Water Photography Exhibition Features All Female Artists

Tranquil and lush water photography will bathe the walls of De Santos Gallery (1724-B Richmond) this summer as Houston’s premiere fine art photography house, presents “The Lure of Water”, an all female artist photography exhibit, Saturday July 2nd – Saturday July 30th. The opening reception will be held Saturday July 2nd from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

Tranquil and lush water photography will bathe the walls of De Santos Gallery (1724-B Richmond) this summer as Houston’s premiere fine art photography house, presents “The Lure of Water”, an all female artist photography exhibit, Saturday July 2nd – Saturday July 30th. The opening reception will be held Saturday July 2nd from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

De Santos will take you to the water’s edge with this subtle and sublime photography series. From brilliant color, to subdued black and white photographs, this common theme is interpreted by the artist, each in a unique way. Featured artist will be Martha Casanave, Ann Gabriel, Amparo Garrido, Gina Glover and Karine Laval.

Karine Laval’s and Amparo Garrido’s images are a celebration of color and the true lure of summer. Anne Gabriele’s photographs evoke a quiet experience by the seaside beautifully accomplished by her Polaroid transfers; while Gina Glover and Martha Casanave use the pinhole technique to achieve a dreamier feeling.

The De Santos Gallery is owned and directed by Gemma and Luis De Santos who are natives of Spain and long-time residents of Houston. They commissioned Houston architect Fernando Bravo who recently won the 2005 American Institute of Architects Design Award for the building design. The DeSantos Gallery specializes in photography (including traditional and new media) from contemporary European and Asian photographers.
