UK Humour Site Launches Postcard Photography Competition Popular UK-based humour site, www.randomrant.co.uk, has announced the launch of "Wish I Wasn't Here!", a photography competition to find images depicting the worst areas of the worst towns in the UK which will then be turned into a series of postcards. Fort William, Scotland (PRWEB) June 28, 2005 -- Web surfers tired of seeing their imperfect, run down towns and cities depicted as ideal, picturesque holiday destinations are being given the chance to redress the balance, thanks to a competition being run by UK humour site, www.randomrant.co.uk.
"Wish I Wasn't Here!" is the brainchild of Random Rant owner, Baz Hutchison, who is encouraging visitors to the site to submit photographs of the worst aspects of the area they live in, with the best of those submitted being printed as a collection of "Anti-Postcards" and made available to purchase online.
"I live in the Highlands of Scotland", said Baz, "and constantly see images of majestic stags, stunning landscapes and kilt-wearing pipers staring out at me from gift shop windows, when I know the reality of my town is nothing like that whatsoever."
Added Baz: "I thought the time had come to set the record straight."
The competition will run until October 2005, with winners receiving a presentation boxed collection of the winning postcards, along with a share of profits from any future sales of their card design.
