LEVEL Launches Urban EcoMap

San Luis Obispo, CA (PRWEB) June 23, 2009 -- LEVEL Studios (http://level-studios.com), an independent digital agency, announced the launch of Urban EcoMap (http://www.urbanecomap.org/), a website providing metropolitan communities with relevant data regarding the primary greenhouse gas contributors (transportation, waste and energy) in their respective cities. LEVEL provided user experience services in the development of the site, defining the interface, usability and aesthetics.

Urban EcoMap is a key element of Connected Urban Development (CUD), an organization that partners with leading cities to reduce their carbon emissions while enhancing quality of life. CUD was born from Cisco's commitment to the Clinton Global Initiative, which has since led to climate-focused partnerships with leading cities, such as San Francisco, Seoul and Amsterdam. San Francisco is the first city worldwide to launch Urban EcoMap, a collaborative effort involving Cisco's Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG) and San Francisco's Department of the Environment. The goal is that the pilot project will build awareness, foster a sense of community connections and responsibility in addition to providing actions that citizens can take to reduce greenhouse gasses in their city.
