Kirkland Uncorked Brings Art to All, Even the Doodlers

Whether it's in the air, from the grill, or on the canvass, guests experience a spectrum of art at Kirkland Uncorked, a festival of art, style and taste July 17-19 in Marina Park.

Kirkland, WA (Vocus) June 23, 2009 -- Whether it's in the air, from the grill, or on the canvass, guests experience a spectrum of art at Kirkland Uncorked (www.kirklanduncorked.com), a festival of art, style and taste July 17-19 in Marina Park.

The three-day festival offers guests the opportunity to find their own inspiration and learn about what inspired others. Uncorked gives each guest the unique chance to meet and converse with on-site artists as Kirkland Avenue transforms into Artists Lane with art from over fifty local, regional, and nationally recognized artists. A selection of the art donated for the festival benefits the Hope Heart Institute, whose mission is the prevention and treatment of heart disease.

After strolling through Artist Lane, guests can put their newfound inspiration to use and stop by the "Arts for All" exhibits in the Kirkland Uncorked Promenade. The exhibits include clay throwing demonstrations, drawing activities including a still-life model, kids' art activities and watercolor demonstrations. All kinds of artists are welcome from the fledgling doodler to the accomplished artiste.

Tired of strolling? Have a seat lakeside and take in the culinary art unfolding at the grills and restaurant samplings. Taste some of the enticing bite-sized feasts that Kirkland and Northwest restaurants offer throughout the weekend. Next, watch Master Chefs Aaron Valimont of Oceanaire Seafood Room, Franz Junga of Il Fornaio, and Scott Lents of bin on the lake go head-to-head in quest of grilling glory during the third annual Grilling Competition Saturday at 5:00pm. Watch the culinary masterminds turn up the heat and battle to hold the title of "Master of the Grill."

Burgers won't be the only art form flying through the air at Kirkland Uncorked. The Anunaki Project fascinates spectators with a performance in the sky. The Cabiri performance troupe will be wowing audiences by exploring ancient mythology using aerial dance and spectacle theatre throughout their five performances on Saturday.
