Bibhu Mohapatra Addressed the Orissa Society of America in Los Angeles Over July 4 Weekend

Fashion designer Bibhu Mohapatra discussed his amazing rise in the international fashion world at the convention of the Orissa Society of America in Long Beach, Calif., on July 2.

(PRWEB) June 30, 2005 -- Bibhu Mohapatra accepted an invitation to address the youth program of the Orissa Society of America at their convention July 2nd in Long Beach California. He discussed how his talent and determination allowed him to rise to the top of the international fashion business in the US.

Mr. Mohapatra also discussed some of the future plans to create his own fashion house and label which he hopes will bridge the fashion worlds of India, the US and Europe.

Bibhu has designed clothes for Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, Cameron Diaz, Sarah Jessica Parker, Julian Moore, Eve, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Salma Hayak, Mandy Moore, Gwen Stefani and Angelina Jolie. The line has been featured in every major fashion magazine, Vogue, Harpers, Elle, In style, WWD.

Mr. Mohapatra received his advanced degree in fashion design from FIT in New York and also has a master's degree in Economics from Utah State University. He worked for Halston prior to joining J. Mendel as an assistant designer. The 33-year-old Mr. Mohapatra was born in the Indian state of Orissa.
