On-Train Speed Monitoring Specialist Expands Into Trackside Equipment

An exclusive agreement has been signed between Swiss based Sécheron and Rowe Hankins Components for the development of DC substations in the UK. As an established supplier of on-train systems for speed monitoring, circuit protection and event recording, the new agreement is a major expansion for Rowe Hankins into trackside equipment.

(PRWEB) July 1, 2005 -- An exclusive agreement has been signed between Swiss based Sécheron and Rowe Hankins Components for the development of DC substations in the UK. As an established supplier of on-train systems for speed monitoring, circuit protection and event recording, the new agreement is a major expansion for Rowe Hankins into trackside equipment.

Sécheron already has substation equipment installed on London Underground and parts of Network Rail. "Having a UK based service partner improves our service to existing customers and builds greater confidence among engineers developing new programmes. It also cements the company's commitment to the UK," commented Benoit Gachet, Sécheron's sales manager for substations.

Through their 'Total Reassurance Engineering' programme Rowe Hankins give lifetime support for electro-mechanical components and sub-systems in the rail industry. This extends from design and development of critical safety systems on new projects through total service life support, including refurbishment and re-manufacturing components where this is the most practical and economical answer.

Rowe Hankins is already the UK representative for Sécheron traction products including circuit breakers, contactors and event monitoring devices. Managing director, Toni Hankins, concluded, "Over the last twenty years we have built strong relationships with train builders, operators and infrastructure companies.
