West Harrison, TX Fire Department Awarded Free Portable Automated External Defibrillator Through a Grant from the AED Superstore™ and Defibtech

The AED Superstore™ and Defibtech, LLC, proud co-sponsors of the AEDsForLife.org fire agency defibrillator grant program, have announced that the West Harrison, Texas Fire Department has been awarded a free Defibtech LifeLine AED. Department Training Coordinator Mark Fort accepted delivery of the device.

(PRWEB) July 5, 2005 -- The AED Superstore™ and Defibtech, LLC, proud co-sponsors of the AEDsForLife.org fire agency defibrillator grant program, have announced that the West Harrison, Texas Fire Department has been awarded a free Defibtech LifeLine AED. Department Training Coordinator Mark Fort accepted delivery of the device.

The AEDsForLife.org Fire Agency AED Grant was created to help reduce the number of fatalities experienced by the fire service as a result of heart attacks and cardiac arrest. Statistics consistently show that roughly half of all firefighter casualties in the field are due to those conditions. The West Harrison Fire Department experienced just such a tragedy several years ago.

The Defibtech LifeLine AED will go into service as a life-saving tool not just for West Harrison firefighters, but for residents and visitors of this east Texas rural community of about 9000.
