InCaseOfEmergency.US, the leading provider of personal emergency planning and preparedness organizer solutions, today donated 48 of its ReadyHome emergency organizers to victims of the Laguna Beach land-slides who lost their homes.

Encinitas, CA (PRWEB) July 3, 2005 -- InCaseOfEmergency.US, the leading provider of personal emergency planning and preparedness organizer solutions, today donated 48 of its ReadyHome emergency organizers to victims of the Laguna Beach land-slides who lost their homes.

In those early morning slides, Some 350 homes were evacuated. About 1,000 residents had left their homes by mid-afternoon. Fortunately, only four minor injuries reported. City Manager, Ken Frank, said he was "optimistic" that those who live in 300 of the 350 homes could return in the next day or two. As it turned out, 48 homes were either yellow-tagged (being evaluated by geologists) or red-tagged (not habitable). The families from all of those homes were turned out to find temporary housing.

The people who live in Laguna Beach have had to deal with hill slides and fires over the years," noted ICOE's Laura Arnone. Yet in spite of this, there are still many people who do not have home inventories or pictures of their homes' contents to use as they are trying to work with insurance companies for recovery. This gift of ReadyHome books will now give people an easier way to get prepared for the next time something like this happens, and to recover faster after the event is over."

Jamie Pendleton, Senior Analyst for the City of Laguna worked with ICOE to connect with residents and - take the books to Debbie Cortez, manager of the Resource Center, who handled the book distribution to those with home losses. Lisa Manning, a Registered Nurse and ICOE Community Services Director, gave a presentation about home emergency preparedness to many of the disaster victims. She noted thatICOE created ReadyBooks to help people to get ready for the expected and prepared for the unexpected. We are pleased that we could use our ReadyHome product to help the Laguna Beach residents who are facing these terribly devastating personal losses." KCAL-9 News covered the ICOE donation on their broadcast that evening to inform the Laguna Beach community of the gift and the help it can give them to recover more quickly from the disaster.

ICOE will work as a partner with the Laguna Beach Landslide Victims Fund by donating a percentage of its sales, processed through the Rescue Center website, to the victims and rebuilding effort.

The ReadyHome Resources and Contacts Section records room by room home inventory records, insurance policy information, and Maintenance & Repair, Family, Friend and Neighbors Contacts. It also provides locations for vital Consumer & Medical and Emergency Numbers. The ReadyHome Organizer also comes with a Travel Pouch to hold the book and a video tape/CD/floppy disk of home contents, pictures, copies of important documents, spare glasses, or keys -- to name a few.
