Oldest (IN AGE) Tournament Paintball Team In The Nation

Men At Work Tournament Paintball Team

(PRWEB) July 3, 2005 -- There are over 12 million players involved in playing Paintball today. Our Sport is growing daily. The Team, Men at Work," would like to consider themselves as Ambassadors to the sport. They want to represent this sport in such a way that more people would look at paintball as a family event, rather then a young man's sport.

What Men at Work bring and promote are, Integrity, Honesty, Good Sportsmanship, Team Work, and Respect.

The Men at Work team is comprised of men over the age of 40 who have been playing paintball for quite some time. Most of the players have kids and, some, grandkids who are currently playing paintball.

The Men at Work will be playing in the PSP and NPPL and local tournaments throughout the year. Their Strategy is much different than most other teams. For one they all realize that they are nowhere near as quick as the younger players. Therefore they compensate by other measures. The guys on the team highly respect the younger teams and after playing and against them have also earned the teams respect. Men at Work take their game seriously and practice every week. The team is fortunate enough to have Paul Richards (the asst. coach of Detroit Strange) as their coach.

The team was formed in November 2004. They played their first local tournament in March 2005 and placed 4th. I was extremely proud of our team as everyone gave their best which is all anyone can ever ask for. Everyone likes to win but our philosophy is it's not always about winning, but how you play the game."- Bernie Altman, Captain of Men at Work.

Men at Work carry a 10 man roster to play both 5 man and 7 man format. The team has come a long way since their first practice. A few of the guys on the team were thinking, "boy are we in trouble..." but as any new team starts out, it always gets better. In their case, maybe a little longer then the younger players to develop. Obviously a different strategy is called upon that works for Men at Work where they rely on patience and communication.

Men at Works home field is Gator Paintball located in Hudson, Florida. Men at Work can usually scrimmage Division 2 and sometimes Pro players, and they can hold their own on the field. Men at Work are proud to have Dye, PMI, Custom Products, Gator Paintball, Log Cabin Paintball, and Break 50 Paintball as their sponsors. The team members are probably the oldest (in age) Tournament Paintball Team in the Country. Their average age is 50 yrs young. The youngest player is only 40 and the oldest player is 55. Now this should be an encouragement for the grown ups to get out on the field with their kids, family, or friends and enjoy this great sport.
