Personal Space Announces Season Four

Innovative NYC Company pushes Theatrical Boundaries further in their 2005-2006 Season with the New York City Premiere of "Hanoch Levin's Murder," the fourth annual presentation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" and the first New York revival of Arthur Kopit's "BecauseHeCan."

NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) July 9, 2005 -- Returning to the stage fresh from their artistically acclaimed third season, Personal Space Theatrics (PST) announced today the lineup for their 2005-2006 season, which includes Murder by Hanoch Levin, the fourth annual presentation of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol, and BecauseHeCan by Pulitzer-nominated playwright Arthur Kopit. Artistic Director Stephen Wargo commented, This season promises to take our audiences into new and exciting theatrical territories. The season opens in October 2005 with the New York City Premiere of Murder, by Hanoch Levin and adapted & directed by Michael Weiselberg. From Israels most renowned playwright comes an unflinching, provocative, and universal examination of the cycle of violence and revenge. Hailed as raw and thought provoking" by the San Francisco Chronicle and produced in over twenty countries and a dozen languages, PST will present the NYC premiere of a theatrical piece that transcends politics, race, religion, and sound bites to cut to the heart of the human condition. PST has been developing Michael Weiselbergs (PST Reading Series Director) adaptation of Murder through both their New Playwrights & ERETZ Reading Series for the past two years.

PST then moves from the fury of war to the search for hope. In December 2005, for the fourth year in a row, PST will return to its own grand, mythological, dark and joyous celebration of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol. Adapted and directed by Artistic Director Stephen Wargo, PSTs unique and moving examination of Dickens words coupled with the soaring songs of the season as arranged by Diane Adams McDowell will return to New York for its longest run yet after last years sold-out production, which Adrienne Cea of offoffonline called, A powerful punch of Christmas spirit! Rounding out the Mainstage Season in March 2006 is the first NYC revival of BecauseHeCan by Pulitzer-nominated author Arthur Kopit (Wings; Nine; Oh Dad, Poor Dad...) directed by Associate Artistic Director Nicholas Cotz. An erotic thriller for a wireless world, BecauseHeCan turns information into a deadly weapon, warning us against the toxic mix of technology and obsession in this riveting sexual-psycho-cyber-drama.
