Clear Channel Refuses Wisconsin Governor Doyle Recall Billboard Ad for Indecency

Citing their "decency" policy, the Milwaukee Office of Clear Channel Outdoor, a division of Clear Channel Communications Inc. has refused to allow Wisconsinites Interests Now (WIN), the group spearheading the recall effort of Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle, to purchase billboard space on their outdoor advertising inventory. The message consisted of two words, "Taxed Enough?" followed by the Recall Doyle website address "RecallDoyle.com." WIN is an outgrowth of the Tea Party movement.

For the message, in and of itself, to be called indecent is the height of hypocrisy. We fully intend to get our message out and have even gone to the lengths of renting an air banner advertising service to fly over the crowds at the 4th of July fireworks in Milwaukee."
