Reno, Nevada -- July 12, 2005 / -- J.M.Lamoreux, announces publication of "Patient 444 and Other Short Stories," in print and PDF versions.

"Patient 444 and Other Short Stories" is a collection of eleven tales written and illustrated by the author. The stories are inspired by urban legends in the Reno/Tahoe area and range from haunted shopping mall bathrooms to apartments occupied by large, invisible, and angry "tenants." The book deals with predatory wolf spirits at the Donner Memorial Park, an abandoned mental institution in which something dark and horrible wanders its littered halls, an abandoned school gym haunted by a lonely spirit, and a "Water Master" who discovers something evil lurking in the liquid element he is paid to manage for the towns and cities downstream.

Accompanied by illustrations by the author, "Patient 444 and Other Short Stories" is worth the modest purchase price. A calendar with illustrations from the book can be purchased too, and a CD (read by the author) of the award winning short story "The Egg," (one of the pieces included in the book) is also available.

J.M.Lamoreux wrote and illustrated "Patient 444 and Other Short Stories," to carve a niche in the electronic publishing world for "Folk Tale Horror," and illustrated electronic books.
