The Fernwood Hotel and Resort is offering an exclusive package for the Pocono Chicken Wing-off Festival; packages start from just $288 and include two nights of hotel accommodations and forty tickets to sample over twenty different kinds of wings.

Bushkill, PA (Vocus) July 10, 2009 -- Fernwood Hotel and Resort will host the 14th Annual Pocono Chicken Wing-Off to benefit Monroe County Meals on Wheels from noon to 4:00 pm on the Fernwood Great Lawn.

Festival attendees pay as they go for wings, beverages and other food. Proceeds from the wings sold will go to Meals on Wheels, which generates over $12,000 from the event annually. New this year, there will be craft and vendor booths added to expand things to do at the festival.

Wings are judged in four categories: Chef’s Choice, Most Original and the Grand Prizes, People’s Choice for Hottest Wing and People’s Choice for Best Tasting Wing. Each category winner receives an award plaque, radio and print advertising, billboards announcing the winners, and a $250 check for the outstanding entry.

Guest judges are celebrities, chefs, and other local wing enthusiasts with voting for "best wings" done by attendees. The event schedule includes contests, live music, craft and food vendors, a Pepsi play area with giveaways, and games.
