STARSTRUCK: A HOLLYWOOD SAGA: A behind the scenes novel that asks how far would you go for fame?

From the palm tree lined Sunset Boulevard to the sprawling Hollywood Hills mansions to the trendy Rodeo Drive boutiques comes a tale by controversial author, Michael Holloway Perronne, as can only be told by an ex-Hollywood insider.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 19, 2005 -- Michael Holloway Perronne, who recently made headlines for shipping a shovel and a copy of his gay themed debut novel, "A Time Before Me," to conservative lawmaker Gerald Allen in response to proposed Alabama legislation that would ban all gay books, is making waves again with his latest novel, "Starstruck: A Hollywood Saga."

In this "campy, trashy, beach read" novel, three wannabe celebrities will do almost anything it takes to make it to Tinseltown. Carrington- After running away from her suffocating small Iowa town, she managed to turn herself into Hollywoods latest "It" girl. Will her jaw dropping scandal filled past destroy her career and one chance at true love? Derek- The closeted gay actor who made it big and will do anything to keep his secret. When a chance at real romance comes his way, will he be willing to open his heart even if it means sacrificing his stardom? Jake- Handsome and rugged, he climbs Hollywoods producing ranks and falls for Carrington. Is his love for her strong enough to survive both of their troubled pasts?

Perronne insists the book is entirely fiction but was inspired by his days working in the entertainment industry. "The insanity, the ups and downs, and downright desperation I saw in people on a daily basis working in Hollywood never ceased to be fascinating." Perronne says his novel is perfect for fans of what he calls "great trashy fiction" and melodrama. It sheds light on the allure, but in reality, fake glamour of working and making it in Hollywood. "While working as a production assistant in film and television, I saw everything from temper tantrums over there being no Doritos on a craft service table to an actor threatening suicide just to spite people on the set. The huge egos mixed with sixteen hour work days combined to form high drama that had nothing to do with the scripts."

Michael Holloway Perronne is a writer living in Los Angeles. He has a BA from the University of Southern Mississippi and a MFA from the Creative Writing Workshop at the University of New Orleans.
