Lehigh Valley, PA, Woman with Multiple Sclerosis to Bike 150 Miles Multiple sclerosis does not stop Tania Kincaid from riding her bicycle 150 miles with over a hundred friends and family to raise $125,000 and awareness of MS. Breinigsville, PA (PRWEB) July 27, 2005 -- Tania Kincaid and her team, "Team Tania," plan to raise over $125,000 this year at the MS-150 City-to-Shore Tour put on by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Team Tania will pedal 150 miles from Cherry Hill, NJ to Ocean City, NJ and back again on September 24th and 25th. This is the fourth year that Tania will be cycling with her team; however, it is the seventh year for Team Tania. To date, the team has raised nearly $250,000. This year will mark the 25th Anniversary of the MS-150 City-to-Shore Tour.
Tania was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 1992. In 1999 she temporarily went blind due to her MS. That summer her husbands supervisor started the team with six people in Tanias name. Since then, the team has nearly doubled each year and has gained national attention. In 2005 they will have more than 150 cyclists on the team, which is sponsored by Valley Preferred. The entire event will draw nearly 6,000 other cyclists. The money raised directly assists those in the Delaware and Lehigh Valleys.
About multiple sclerosis This year in the US, over 10,000 people will be newly diagnosed with MS which is an insidious disease effecting the nervous system. Many of the symptoms include fatigue, loss of balance and/or muscle control, and blindness.
