New York, NY (PRWEB) July 30, 2005 -- As a passionate traveler, Angela Arno has visited and lived in many places around the globe. When she launched her self-monikered jewelry collection earlier this year, the designer took these experiences as inspiration. This summer she will debut two collections -- St. Barths and Prague -- to the trade in the Designer Lab at Accessories: The Show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City on July 31 and August 1-2, 2005.
"While not every place Ive been has had an impact on my aesthetic sensibilities, certain places have made their mark. It might be a palette of colors, a shape, or an architectural style. Sometimes its simply a feeling that a place brings, which I try to communicate that through my designs.
The St. Barths Collection features semi-precious gemstones, Swarovski® crystals, and sterling silver. Turquoise, coral, and mother-of-pearl, so popular with this summers bohemian chic look, are interpreted into pieces like the Beach Ladder Necklace with delicate rungs of stones suspended between fine sterling silver chain. Signature pieces include colorful striped crystal bracelets and delicate, trend-setting Ear Sticks™.
"The jewelry in this collection shares its DNA with the St. Barths scene. The natural stones, sometimes rough-cut and polished, other times highly faceted, have a laid-back feeling but are still put to sophisticated use," says Angela. "The glittering crystals, too, are perfect with the 'in' looks -- it's what I call 'bohemian bling.' "
The Prague Collection is influenced by the Art Nouveau movement, which Angela fell in love during a visit to the Czech Republic. And while this collection is inspired by the works of artists like Alphonse Mucha, the pieces are decidedly modern. In this collection, Angela mixes Czech fire-polished glass, semi-precious gemstones like smoky quartz and peridot, and 14K gold-filled components into sculptural lariats, long earrings, and chunky bracelets.
The necklaces, earrings, and bracelets are designed and handmade by Angela Arno at her studio in Oneida, NY, or her "home-away-from-home" of Montréal, Canada. The catalog is currently available at www.angelaarno.com.
