'USA High' Teen Drama Heartthrob Josh Holland Joins Growing A-List of Actors on 'Palmetto Pointe' The hot new teen drama will also feature two familiar faces from 'Dawsons Creek,' 'Beverly Hills 90210,' and 'One Tree Hill.' Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) August 4, 2005 -- Palmetto Pointe," one of the hottest new teen dramas coming to primetime television, just got hotter with the addition of actor Josh Holland.
Holland, the New York City native teen heartthrob who was raised in California, became a household name to millions of fans worldwide as Jackson Green on the hit show USA High" and as Zach Vernon on Port Charles."
In "Palmetto Pointe" Holland plays Jason Sutton, the hot-headed older brother of Tristan Sutton, played by Timothy Woodward, Jr., the shows lead and producer. Hollands character runs the local Palmetto Pointe hotspot for music and fun, the "City Bar & Grill," the main hangout for the shows central characters. While he has a big heart, he also has issues with the way Tristan runs his life and isnt afraid to let him know what he thinks.
Holland will have a starring role on Palmetto Pointe," which began filming last month in Charleston, S.C., and debuts Sunday, Aug. 28, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on i (www.ionline.tv), formerly PAX TV.
The teen drama is based on real life experiences and follows six high schoolers heading off to college.
Sky Entertainment Group also announced that stars from hit TV shows, Dawsons Creek," Beverly Hills 90210," and One Tree Hill" have joined the cast.
Joining the show from Dawsons Creek" is John Wesley Shipp, who won two consecutive daytime Emmy awards for his soap work -- the first for "As the World Turns" and the second for "Santa Barbara."
Shipp earned his first daytime claim to fame playing Dr. Kelly Nelson on "The Guiding Light" in 1980. His character on "Dawson's Creek" (1998), Mitch Leery, was killed off in the fifth season.
Nina Repeta, who is best known for the role of Bessie Potter on Dawsons Creek," also joins the teen drama. Repeta has a long list of credits including the feature film Divine Secrets of the Ya-ya Sisterhood" and TVs Matlock."
Gabrielle Carteris, who starred for five years in the role of Andrea" in the Aaron Spelling series Beverly Hills 90210," plunges into Palmetto Pointe" playing the loving, hardworking mother and loyal supportive wife in the drama.
Sarah Edwards, who joined the cast this week, is known to millions of fans worldwide as Theresa on One Tree Hill." She attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City after her first season and has now returned to South Carolina to begin filming the hot new teen drama.
Also from The WBs One Tree Hill" is Amanda Baker, who joins the cast as the sporty and ambitious Callah OConnell. Baker is fresh off a role on an ABC Family movie titled Same as It Never Was" that will have the up-and-coming actress playing the best friend of Lacey Chabert (Party of Five," Mean Girls.")

Timothy Woodward, Jr. and Brent Lovell are just two of the hot up-and-coming young actors that Palmetto Pointe" has to offer. Casting Director David Schifter has referred to them as the Ben Affleck and Matt Damon of the Carolinas."
On the set of Palmetto Pointe," Timothy Woodward, Jr. plays Tristan Sutton, a hot-headed baseball pitcher who went into high profile summer league ball straight out of high school with the hopes of making the big leagues. As his stock rises, Tristan must pitch the game of his life to ice the cake in his hometown of Palmetto Pointe, a place he abandoned upon the untimely passing of his parents.
The show is tackling trendy, traditional and hot button social issues such as teen pregnancy, date rape, alcoholism, beach parties and making it through college.
Fans of one of the most talked about teen TV dramas will get a peek at the Palmetto Pointe" stars as they walk the red carpet for media interviews at the Teen Choice Awards 2005 (Sunday, Aug. 14, 8 p.m. on Fox).
TV and pop music star Hilary Duff and Comedian Rob Schneider are teaming up to host the Seventh Annual Teen Choice Awards.
The Teen Choice Awards tapes Aug. 14 and airs Aug. 16 on Fox at 8 p.m. EST/PST. Among the night's performers will be Gwen Stefani, who is also up for four awards. In addition, Stefani will be receiving the Visionary Award. Winners are chosen by the fans who can cast their votes through Aug. 4 at www.teenpeople.com/teenchoice.
