Sandy Powell Wins First Place in Top Treatments in 20th Annual Window Fashions Envision Design Competition

Sandy Powell, of Signature Draperies & Design, won first place at the 20th Annual Window Fashions Envision Competition for her inspiring Jester Top Treatment. Her Jester Top Treatment was designed to complement the Venetian masks and Jester pieces on the adjacent wall.

St. Paul, MN (PRWEB) August 10, 2005 -- Sandy Powell, of Signature Draperies & Design, Los Altos, CA, won first place in the Top Treatments category at the 20th Annual Window Fashions Envision Design Competition, produced by Window Fashions magazine. Powell designed a cornice box for a nine-foot tall window which mimicked the neckpieces of the adjacent Jesters. Long, stuffed triangles, adorned with bells and trim, were attached to the box while jester-ribbon-tassels and colored-crystals dangled from the box decorating the nine-foot tall window. The Jester Top Treatment was designed to complement the adjacent, upholstered wall-boards, which were decorated with Venetian masks and Jester pieces, which Powell made herself.

Trophies were presented at the Window Fashions Envision Design Competition awards ceremony, held Atlanta, Georgia, at the 2005 International Window Coverings EXPO. Other categories in the awards ceremony included: Combination Treatments (a blind or shade used in conjunction with a fabric treatment), Commercial Window Treatments, Curtains & Draperies, Decorative Hardware & Trim, Designer’s Debut, Specialty Windows, Whole-Room Integration, and Wonderful Walls. The awards ceremony was sponsored by Hunter Douglas.
