Detroit Techno Militia Infiltrates Western Michigan

Mitch Walcott joins Detroit Techno Militia RECON:313. Based in Western Michigan, he's an experienced electronic music producer who brings over a decade of experience to the group.

(PRWEB) August 18, 2005 -- On a never-ending mission to expand around the globe, the DETROIT TECHNO MILITIA has extended their reach across their home state of Michigan with the addition of producer Mitch Walcott. This Grand Rapids native is the newest RECON:313 member to join an elite squadron of highly trained musicians. His mission is to reinforce Detroits stronghold on the electronic music community.

For the last decade, Walcott has fine-tuned his craft through formal education, studio work and club experience. He received a professional boost in the spring of 2001 when Carl Craig selected him to open up the Underground Stage at the 2001 Detroit Electronic Music Festival. After his debut performance, Mitch submitted a demo to Jeff Mills (Axis Records). In 2002, Mills released Walcotts debut album Europa" on Tomorrow, a sub-label of Axis Records. Around the same time, Mitch also helped co-invent an analog synthesizer for the German manufacturer, Vermona.

Since then, Walcott has shifted his focus to perfecting his live performance. He is an extremely talented artist who has learned how to capture the distinctive Detroit sound in his music. His feels that each audience can experience his music differently because it is not pre-recorded and the sound is manipulated live. His current goal is to travel to cities that he was never been to before in order to experience the culture and let the people experience his music. He is also exploring the MOTU's Digital Performer for the OS X platform and is taking his live performances to new heights.

Be on guard for the entire DETROIT TECHNO MILITIA as they infiltrate your region. The RECON:313 division: Der Mercenary (Belgium), Loner9 (Charlotte, NC) Dimitri Pike (Belgium) and new recruit Mitch Walcott (Grand Rapids, MI), reinforces the heavily adamant Detroit DTM unit: T.Linder, Darkcube, Andy Hegler, Annix, Doc, Tres Luccitti, Dan Lucas and Neil V. Regardless of location, mainstream music will never be safe as these soldiers march the globe to the beat of an AWOL drummer. Keep watch as the DETROIT TECHNO MILITIA invades a dance floor near you.

Historically, DETROIT TECHNO MILITIA is a grass-roots collective whos mission is to promote Detroit Electronic Music around the world. They are influenced heavily by Detroit's' techno history and spread the gospel of techno to anyone who will listen. They believe in what they do, and take pride in giving back to something that has given so much to them. They look at it a lot like restoring an old building. While most people have the out with the old, in with the new" attitude, they want to maintain the historic value that is already present in Detroit. They are not tearing down the old building, but using the existing structure as a basis of their endeavors. Musically & historically, Detroit has a lot to offer, and DETROIT TECHNO MILITIA wants to make sure the rest of the world knows about it.
