(PRWEB) August 26, 2005 -- The Souths Beloved Bead Show - The Down the Street Bead Show is coming to SCAD - Savannah College of Art and Design, on September 16th, 17th, and 18th.

A brand new city stop for The Down the Street Bead Show and Savannahs very first bead show will make this a very fun and exciting event for all who love beads and jewelry.

Savannahs College of Art and Design is well known for their metals and jewelry departments will be handing out information on these very programs at the show. Many rising stars in the jewelry design business have begun their early design careers at SCAD.

Beads. Some would say that beads do not have a place in the jewelry design business but you will be amazed at what some bead makers and designers are doing in glass, seed beads, metal, polymer clay, and many other mediums. The beading business is hot right now and is spawning a very large new interest in jewelry design. The bead business alone has grown to a $1 billion-plus industry nationally. Many beaders, jewelry designers, and glass bead makers are moving towards adding metals including PMC -- Precious Metal Clay -- and other mediums to their bead and jewelry designs. At this time the jewelry design business is in a major renaissance and is at the most exciting time that it has ever been.

Some of the lamp work bead makers exhibiting at the show will be demonstrating glass bead making in what we like to call a Flame Off.

If want to become a part of this bead and jewelry renaissance or at least give it a try The Down The Street Bead Show offers many classes in basic, intermediate, and advanced levels of bead and wire wrapping. Beginning PMC classes are also being offered with intermediate PMC classes to come soon. Many returning students to the shows continue to take more classes and upgrade their jewelry design skills to further help them in the jewelry design marketplace.

We continue to add classes as teaching artist come forward. For current classes being offered in Savannah please visit the show website at www.thedownthestreetbeadshow.com

The show is open to both the public and business owners with both retail and wholesale sales available. Business owners must bring current copies of their resale sale tax license and register at the registration table.
