Houston, TX (PRWEB) August 27, 2005 Our website, http://www.chinatownconnection.com ,is a web portal promoting the Chinese Culture and heritage. The purpose of the site is three-fold: 1. Bring HoustonÂs Chinatown out and let everyone in Houston know about it. I feel Chinatown is isolated from the rest of the city. You do not see as many Anglos or any other type of people here that often and that in part is due to no one has really promoted the area, its businesses, and just the misperception of ÂChinatownÂ. I talked to a lot of people and they asked, ÂHouston has a Chinatown? Now we here know that the Asian population is strong, businesses are booming, but outside of Chinatown, people do not know that. And this is where my website comes in. It promotes the entire area, and Asian businesses across Houston. People can go to my site and see what is happening in C-town, where to go eat, learn about the culture, and enjoy the experience. Tourists should find my site extremely useful too. I want to get that message out to everyone. 2. A while back, I brought my co-workers to Chinatown to eat. When we got back to work, they gave positive feedbacks, especially commenting on the food, price, and the experience. However, none knew beforehand what was in Chinatown. They told me they did not venture there because it confused them, did not know where to eat, and just did not know much about the place. Again, when people utilize my website, all those questions will be answered. In order for us to promote our culture and Chinatown businesses, like the speech from dignitaries today, we need a bridge to connect that gap. That is what my website will do. Chinatown is an island right now, secluded to its own population. But my website will bridge that gap and let everyone in Houston know, see, and experience an unique culture lying right in their back yard. 3. For individuals not residing in Houston or Texas, this site has so many things to offer, and so many things to do, it will keep visitors busy for hours. There is an online art gallery featuring local and famous artists. We also have a travel section for users to post their reviews and pictures. Read interesting articles updated daily and news feeds from around the world. Chinese users can read news in their native language and also view interesting articles. There is a free classifieds posting section for users to post anything they want to sell. There is a huge internet shopping marketplace for people looking for good deals or just want to shop around. The list goes on and on. So please check out our site, http://www.chinatownconnection.com and see what is has to offer you. # # #
