Bryant Gardens Co-op in White Plains, NY Gets Community Web Forum

The Webshop at servenet.com announces its latest public service project, The Bryant Gardens Forum at bryantgardens.com. A web-based community center for the Bryant Gardens Cooperative in White Plains, NY, the new Forum already serves 20% of its target market with discussions of hot-button topics supplemented with news, stories and classifieds.

(PRWEB) August 28, 2005 -- The Webshop at servenet.com, a leading NY website developer, launched its latest public service project last week, The Bryant Gardens Forum at http://www.bryantgardens.com. The web-based Forum is an online community center serving the residents of the Bryant Gardens Cooperative in White Plains, NY with "news, views, stories and classifieds." Less than two weeks old, it is used by over 50 different visitors daily, representing more than 20% of the Bryant Gardens residents with Internet access.

Louis J. Bruno, the President of the Webshop at servenet.com, and a Bryant Gardens resident himself, said he developed the Forum because "Bryant Gardens, like many cooperative communities, needs a way for the residents -- mostly shareholders -- to communicate their concerns and interests." A look at the nearly 200 messages already posted shows the Forum is meeting the need. Athena, JC, Froggy, Lilbigwheelz, Kriscroc, Here_since_89, DDS and dozens more have registered, voted in polls, and talked about hallway renovations, loitering, parking, radiators, heating and red cedar mulch, among other hot button topics.

"Through the Forum, we've contributed a likely solution to a long-term parking problem," said Lou Bruno. "We also identified several other topics -- overheated apartments, loitering, and hallway renovations -- that will certainly be raised at the shareholder's annual meeting, and hopefully before then, at meetings of the Board of Directors." Asked if he is planning to run for the Board himself, Lou said he might if there's enough interest. "For now, I'm very pleased that Management has taken an interest in the Forum, and is posting replies and information. We want the Forum to be a community effort, including management, not a standoff."

Bryant Gardens Cooperative, located in White Plains, NY off Bryant Avenue, between Mamaroneck Ave and North Street, consists of fifteen two-story garden apartment buildings, two on a cul-de-sac off Bryant Avenue, and the remaining buildings on Bryant Crescent, a private road. Originally built in the early 1950s, they were converted to cooperative ownership beginning with a non-eviction plan in 1981. The complex includes thirteen sets of unattached garages, three large parking lots, and a private park at the bow of the Crescent. The sales and managing agent for Bryant Gardens is Robert Orlofsky Realty, Inc. with offices at 7 Bryant Crescent, Suite 1C, White Plains, NY 10605 (phone: 914-328-6962). In annual memos to shareholders, Orlofsky reported dramatically increasing prices and very strong sales for 2004 and 2005, with over 25 apartments sold from January thru August 2005.

The Webshop at servenet.com, whose previous public service project was the highly-regarded Oyster Bay Passport Calendar (http://www.oysterbaypassport.com), has developed and maintains a number of other successful forums, notably the Mohawk ShopTalk Forum (http://www.mohawkshoptalk.com) about automotive equipment, and Metro: The Real Estate Forum (http://www.metrorealestateforum.com) for NY, NJ, and CT homeowners.
