(PRWEB) August 31, 2005

The American Association of Yemeni Scientists and Professionals (AAYSP.org) has shipped $70,000 worth of books and school equipment. The shipment included books and educational and scientific equipment donated by U.S. companies, foundations and members of the organization. The books include (deleted items) college level books that cover all disciplines in addition to k-6 reading books to enhance English education in the elementary level. The AAYSP has worked hard over the past year to collect important scientific journals and references in order to improve access to these materials in a country where resources are very scarce.

The books and equipment obtained through AAYSP partnerships with other US organizations such as the Hope Foundation and Scholastic, will arrive in Yemen by mid-September. Most of the books in this shipment are destined for Sana'a University, the largest public university in Yemen. The AAYSP will continue to work with other public universities in Yemen to help provide them with the books and resources they need.
