A Tribute to Shelley Berman: The Comedy-O-Rama Labor Day Special; The Aquatic World of Camp Waterlogg

Norm Crosby and Shelley Berman guest star in this two-hour radio extravaganza on XM Radio and NPR stations.

(PRWEB) September 4, 2005 -- Norm Crosby and Shelley Berman guest star in a two-hour radio extravaganza on XM Radio and NPR stations, The Comedy-O-Rama Labor Day Special.

The Comedy-O-Rama Hour is the first and only weekly comedy show on the radio since Bob & Ray left the airwaves. They are taking up the mantle of the radio geniuses of the past, from Fibber McGee s closet to Stan Freberg s joyful satire of the 1950s, beams Steve Karesh, Program Director of XM Satellite Radio s Sonic Theater Channel (163).

Joe Bevilacqua's troupe is one of the most unique and original radio productions out there these days. With Joe s talent for different voices, the audience never knows what's coming next, or what it will sound like. It is quite obvious to the listener that Joe and his cast are having fun, and that makes them fun to listen.

There s one simple reason Comedy-O-Rama attracts the attention of creative program directors. It's fun! It's PRPD s Core Value of humor delivered with a uniquely human voice . Bevilacqua is indisputably unique, and as a disciple of Yogi Bear (well, Daws Butler, actually), he's master of scores of voices, agrees Geo Beach, Tempest Studios, Homer, Alaska.

A hilarious gem, very modern in content but warm and full of good old-fashioned humor. Diverse characters make you want to listen and follow the story-line. Setting the story in the Catskills makes everyone more interesting. I found the actors very skilled in their changing from one voice to another. Also, the sounds and mixing were a spot on and a well-placed, non-obtrusive addition to the story. All in all, well-worth listening. Makes the end of summer almost tolerable! says Corky Everett, listener to prx.org.

The Comedy-O-Rama Hour is written and improvised by Joe Bevilacqua, Lorie Kellogg, Cousin Kenny Savoy, Jim Folly, and Tom Giannazzo: AKA Liquid Comedy, with Everett and Virginia Kellogg and Cole Hogan. Produced and Directed by Joe Bevilacqua for Waterlogg Productions; Associate Producer: Lorie Kellogg.

This sound rich, two-hours of Radio Theater, stand-up comedy and improvisation tells the charming tale of Ranger Joe and Ranger Lorie, and their wacky adventures at Camp Waterlogg, a fictitious dilapidated kids camp located in the bucolic woods of the Catskills, and visited each week by celebrities, from Al Franken to Bob Edwards.
