Kidney Cancer Association (KCA) Targets Young Investigators

The Kidney Cancer Association (KCA) announces a $40,000 grant to fund a young investigator award through ASCO Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology

(PRWEB) September 4, 2005 -- The Kidney Cancer Association (KCA) today made a $40,000 contribution to fund a young investigator award through the ASCO Foundation.

In announcing KCA's grant to the foundation, CEO Bill Bro said, "We are pleased to make this award through the ASCO Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, because of the mutual interest of our organizations in funding the work of young investigators. If we are to conquer cancer in our lifetime, it requires a long-term commitment to attracting talented researchers."

"ASCO has ability to enlist the help of international, high-profile thought leaders in every cancer subspecialty, and the wherewithal to leverage the size and experience of its 23,000+ professional membership and large support staff in this endeavor," Bro added.

"We are strongly committed to taking action to cure kidney cancer," he emphasized.

The KCA is an international charity founded by a small group of patients and their physician in 1990, in suburban Chicago. Today it serves more than 65-thousand constituents in the U.S. and 102 other countries. Its mission is the global eradication of death and suffering due to kidney cancer.
