Landmark, classic rock album by the Edgar Winter Group entitled They Only Come Out At Night on Ultradisc UHR SACD from MFSL.

(PRWEB) September 9, 2005 -- Originally released in November of 1972, the Edgar Winter Groups double platinum record "They Only Come Out at Night" featured Winters unique synthesizer sound and became one of rocks classic records of all time, containing 2 of Rock 'n Rolls most enduring anthems, Free Ride" and Frankenstein".

Produced by Rick Derringer with Ronnie Montrose on guitars and engineered by Bill Szymezyk who later produced Hotel California and other Eagle hits. They Only Come Out at Night didnt gain immediate commercial success. Winter and the band thought the song Free Ride" was the most commercially feasible tune and after a regrettably brief appearance on the charts the band started planning their next project.

Meanwhile, a grass roots phenomenon was spreading across the country. Underground college FM stations all across the US had discovered a b-side tune called Frankenstein". While Winter and his band mates enjoyed an awesome experience jamming on Frankenstein" the epic tune was never considered to be commercially viable.

Regardless, Frankenstein" was soon one of the most frequently requested songs on mainstream AM stations and climbed to #1 on the charts. The album reached the #3 position and the re-released Free Ride" reached #14 on the singles chart. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab has re-mastered this album on its proprietary GAIN 2 System. This limited edition ULTRADISC UHR SACD also includes an expanded booklet with new liner notes from Edgar Winter himself.
