New Features of ProtoShare 3.5 Advance Prototyping and Visualization of Requirements for Website and Web Application Development Process

Multiple layouts per page, including interactive "live views" in pre and post- project development phase, help in improving delivery times by reducing misunderstandings on projects.

Portland, OR (PRWEB) September 3, 2009

Site9, Inc., a maker of collaborative, web-based software, announced today the release of ProtoShare 3.5. The new version of the collaborative prototyping and requirements visualization tool contains many new features for enhanced requirements clarification. The new features should further help teams improve their interactive development processes by reducing misunderstanding and rework. ProtoShare 3.5 contains multiple layouts per page, live page views, asset sharing across projects, and other performance enhancements for increased speed.

"The 2009 Standish Chaos Report shows that 68% of IT projects either fail, miss the deadline, are over budget, and under-delivered," said Blake D. Johnson, co-founder and Vice President of Business Development. "The industry demands, and needs, change. We strongly believe that ProtoShare's interactive prototypes and web-based collaboration greatly further the visualization and clarification of project requirements, and the ability to get a project right."

Development teams can now test and iterate multiple wireframes and layouts per page for both a better user experience and increased stakeholder input and understanding. In addition, ProtoShare 3.5, a web-based application, can now bring in live websites to either facilitate discussions for a redesign, or review final building stages of a project and compare to the approved specifications.

Managing Director Kevin Hawke of Geary Interactive, a leading interactive agency, says of ProtoShare 3.5, "The bottom line is that ProtoShare 3.5 enables us to be more effective and more flexible across departments, offices, and clients in much less time and with noticeably fewer headaches. It helps to align all parties more quickly and effectively than other tools we have used."

ProtoShare 3.5 has some performance upgrades as well. To facilitate speed, assets are stored on their own server. An updated interface and full editor support for new browsers, Firefox 3.5 and Safari 4, makes working in ProtoShare 3.5 faster and more collaborative than earlier versions.

"The enhancements in ProtoShare 3.5 are right in line with our needs and workflow," said Chris Cavallucci, user experience architect at TMX Interactive. "ProtoShare has been awesome for our
team because we've been able to collaborate and work more efficiently with our clients. We're really looking forward to the additional benefits of this new release."
