USOBA Legislative Chair to Speak at the National Foundation for Women Legislators Annual Conference

The United States Organizations for Bankruptcy Alternatives, a trade association dedicated to the advancement of consumer protection in the debt settlement industry, announced today that its Legislative Chair, John Ansbach, will be speaking at the 2009 National Foundation for Women Legislators Annual Conference. The NFWL Conference, held from September 3 – 7 at the Hyatt Tamaya just outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico, marks the 71st anniversary of the organization.

The annual NFWL Conferences are designed to encourage networking among legislators from every state in an environment in which legislators can share legislation with colleagues, provide opportunities through workshops and roundtables to discuss issues of concerns in the states, and offer a place for state legislators to learn about industries’ and associations’ innovations, technologies and products and programs through presentations and exhibits.

Ansbach will be discussing the current business-assisted options consumers have to address their unsecured debt obligations, as well as current state and federal efforts aimed at regulating debt resolution services.

In his role as the Legislative Director for USOBA, Ansbach has worked in Washington, D.C. as well as California, Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania and a host of other states drafting, negotiating and promoting legislation and regulation designed for the debt settlement industry.

In addition to serving as USOBA’s Legislative Director, Ansbach also serves in private practice as the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for EFA Processing, a debt relief services company based in Frisco, Texas, just north of Dallas.
