Casino Chief Heads Clothing Drive for Hurricane Victims in Waveland, Lake Shore, and Bay St. Louis Mississippi

Paul Alanis President and project developer for the Silver Slipper, and a former top executive with Horseshoe Gaming and Pinnacle Entertainment, initiates a clothing drive in his home town of Pasadena California for the residents of Hancock County Mississippi, who are victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Ocean Springs, MS (PRWEB) September 16, 2005 -- After witnessing first hand the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina, Silver Slipper CEO and project developer Paul Alanis returned to his home in Pasadena California and immediately began a clothing drive for the residents of Hancock County. According to Alanis, "when I saw the devastation for myself, I was speechless. I knew I had to do something to help the residents of Hancock County, and Waveland in Particular. I thought of the kids and it occurred to me that they would need clothes, as will their parents, now, and when school begins again." So, when he got home, his children helped him organize a clothing drive at their school in Pasadena, California. Alanis went on to say that we shipped approximately two (2) tons of clothing several days ago, and in most cases, contributors from Pasadena, California went out and bought new clothes to donate. Alanis said the clothing will arrive in Mississippi today, and shortly thereafter, will be taken to several locations in Waveland, Lakeshore, and Bay St. Louis for distribution to those residents.

Paul Alanis is a former top executive with Horseshoe Gaming and Pinnacle Entertainment. The Silver Slipper was scheduled to open on the beach in Hancock County, sometime in early February 2006, once the refurbished casino barge (formerly the President Casino barge) was moved to its new location in Hancock County.
