Metoc Sells Stake in SeaZone Solutions in the UK

Metoc plc has confirmed an agreement with the UK Hydrographic Office on the sale of the former's majority shareholding in SeaZone Solutions Ltd, which is now 100 per cent owned by UKHO.

(PRWEB) September 19, 2005 -- Metoc plc, the environmental engineering consultancy, has confirmed an agreement with UKHO, the UK Hydrographic Office, on the sale of Metoc's majority shareholding in SeaZone Solutions Ltd, which is now 100 per cent owned by UKHO.

"Its been invaluable collaborating with the UKHO on SeaZone over the last 2 years and this agreement enables Metoc now to focus its resources fully on its core business of providing advisory and project management services in strategic areas where the demands of engineering meet the constraints of the environment in marine, river and land projects," says Metoc managing director Kevin Deeming.

Metoc will continue from time-to-time to work with SeaZone -- which delivers UKHO Hydrospatial and other UK and overseas agencies data to the worldwide geographical information (GI) market. It also provides enabling tools, and consultancy and training services to support the use of coastal and offshore environmental data in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), CAD and other systems.

Metoc plc provides specialized guidance and services to resolve the range of environmental and related regulatory issues confronting the water, energy, marine cable and renewables industry sectors when planning, developing, installing, and maintaining new assets and processes in marine, river and land projects. Services include : research, planning, risk management, contract negotiations, data gathering and site supervision, as well as predictive modeling, and environmental optimization.
