About Dr. David Brownstein Dr. Brownstein is regarded as one of the foremost practitioners of holistic medicine. He is the author of several books, including Salt: Your Way To Health, Overcoming Arthritis, The Miracle of Natural Hormones, Overcoming Thyroid Disorders, and Iodine: Why You Need It, Why You Can't Live Without It, which include methods for treating many different conditions, including chronic fatigue syndrome, headaches, migraine headaches, heart disease, menopausal symptoms, fibromyalgia, and immune and thyroid disorders. In his most recent book, Dr. Brownstein shows why salt is the most misunderstood nutrient, challenging assumptions believed true by both physicians and lay people. In Dr. Brownsteins view, adding the right kind of salt to your diet can help with fatigue, adrenal disorders, immune system function, thyroid disorders, headaches, cholesterol levels, and blood pressure. As Medical Director of the Center for Holistic Medicine, he has specialized in the use of vitamins, minerals, herbs and natural hormones, and has lectured internationally to physicians and others about his success in using natural hormones and nutritional therapies in his practice. He also teaches at Wayne State University and meets with residents as part of their Alternative Medicine Program. This type of program is still the exception," notes Dr. Brownstein, (as) medical schools are still entrenched in drug therapies." At the Integrative Medicine for Anti-Aging Conference, he will present From Hypo- to Hyperthyroid Disorders: Searching for an Underlying Cause and Formulating a Holistic Treatment Plan Including Evaluating and Treatment of Iodine Based Disorders."
