"Storieszzz: The Adventures of Faye and Fred" Makes Naptime and Bedtime Fun & Educational Former music industry executive turned-stay-at-home-dad Michael Preston has created the second in his series of "go-to-sleep" CDs for kids. Following on the heels of "Infant Calm" (for colicky babies), "Storieszzz: The Adventures of Faye and Fred" helps nap- or bedtime-resistant toddlers and children up to age 7 relax into sleep. LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) September 28, 2005 -- PRE Records announces the release of the independent labels fourth CD, 'Storieszzz: The Adventures of Faye & Fred ($9.99). This recording follows closely on the success of PRE Records innovative CD, 'Infant Calm, a collection of household sounds designed to help calm colicky or otherwise fussy infants.
The owner and founder of PRE Records, Michael Preston, former Director of A & R for Beyond Music and stay-at-home dad to Faye, age three, and Amber Rose, age one, created 'Storieszzz: The Adventures of Faye & Fred to help nap- or bedtime-resistant children enter into their own sleep-producing environment while listening to gentle stories about two siblings, Faye and Fred. Preston explains, After our Faye grew out of her colicky stage (thanks in part to 'Infant Calm), the next challenge we found as parents was getting her to take a nap. Bedtime proved difficult as well."
'Storieszzz: The Adventures of Faye & Fred takes children on a camping trip with Mom and Dad, a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpas house, and on journeys to the beach and the zoo. Brahms lullaby is played at the end of each story, as Faye and Fred fall asleep and the narration becomes softer and slower to reinforce a sleepy state in the listener. Each one of these sleep programmed stories is based on a Preston family childhood experience and is narrated by a real live mom," Jocelyn Preston, R.N.P., who practices family medicine at Kaiser Hospital in West Los Angeles.
We purposely did a very unadorned production, with a non-professional narrator, in order to keep the focus on the stories," Preston says. "The whole idea is a throwback to when families gathered together and told stories."
Studies show that reading to children early and often is a key component in their cognitive development. Further, naptime and bedtime should be creative, comforting experiences. Harkening back to the days when families gathered together to tell stories, 'Storieszzz: The Adventures of Faye & Fred provides parents with the materials for a consistent and happy bedtime ritual, encouraging children to use their imaginations and helping them to relax through creative storytelling.
'Storieszzz: The Adventures of Faye and Fred is now available at Babies R Us, walmart.com, buybuyBABY, select Best Buy stores, specialty stores and online at www.prerecords.com.
