Consolidated Credit Counseling Sponsors AOL(r) Latino’s Dinero y Exito Channel To Offer Money and Financial Advice

Demonstrating a shared commitment to the Hispanic community and to financial education, Consolidated Credit, a nonprofit financial education organization will sponsor AOL(r) Latino’s Dinero y Exito Channel to provide members of the leading and only bilingual Hispanic Internet service with personal finance content and guidance.

Ft. Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) October 3, 2005

Under the Dinero Y Exito Channel, Consolidated Credit will sponsor an exclusively created content area called Credito y Deudas which focuses on everything from practical money matters such as budgeting and creating an emergency fund to higher-level topics such as investing, retirement funds, and home-ownership. The content will also cover issues relating to understanding how to use credit in a new country.

“Most countries have an entirely different credit system than the US and when people move here they can get into trouble quickly because they simply do not understand the process and the inner-workings,” says Howard S. Dvorkin, founder of Consolidated Credit Counseling Services, Inc. and author of Credit Hell: How to Dig Out of Debt.

A recent study by Demos, a think tank in New York, showed that Hispanic credit card users are more likely to carry a monthly balance than the general population [non-Hispanic whites]. The hope of this collaboration is to support Hispanics by giving them a trusted source for financial education and information.

“We are thrilled that Consolidated Credit has developed this exclusive sponsorship with us in order to empower the Hispanic community with information about important financial decisions they will need to make while living in this country,” said Mark Lopez, Publisher of AOL Latino.

The Credito y Deudas area will also encompass programs including counseling services, publications, online credit courses, and targeted outreach efforts designed to help the Hispanic community with credit, and other personal finance topics.
