Conrad Melancon Named Vice President of Sales and Marketing for RMS Communications Group Inc. Named Director of Business Development last January, Melancon will oversee sales and marketing for RMS nationwide. OCALA, FL (PRWEB) October 2, 2005 Conrad Melancon, hired by RMS Communications Group Inc. in January as director of business development, has been promoted to vice president of sales and marketing, the company announced today. RMS is one of the nationÂs leading recyclers and re-marketers of used cell phones. MelanconÂs original duties involved expanding RMSÂs network of agents and program participants throughout California and the rest of the nation. He now will oversee all of the companyÂs marketing and sales efforts, including the companyÂs various web site activities. ÂWeÂre excited to be able to expand ConradÂs oversight and responsibility, said James Mosieur, RMS chief executive officer. ÂConrad was able to prove himself very quickly after he was brought on earlier this year, and weÂre delighted to be able to give him an even bigger challenge as RMS grows. Melancon was hired in California, where one of his first assignments was overseeing the establishment of RecycleforCalifornia.com, an RMS initiative aimed at providing Californians with a way to comply with a new state law requiring phone retailers to have no-cost take-back and recycling programs in place by 2006. That program was so successful that it almost immediately grew into a nationwide initiative, RecycleForUS.com, which Melancon also directed. RMS collects used cell phones, recycles them and re-markets them throughout the world. It also provides cell phones at no charge to police, shelters and others in need of 911 phone services. Cell phones that cannot be re-marketed are disposed of in an environmentally responsible fashion. RMS operates a number of web sites. Besides http://www.911CellPhoneBank.com and http://www.RecycleForUS.com, it operates http://www.CellForCash.com, which pays cash for used cell phones; and http://www.WirelessFundraiser.com, which provides cash to non-profit organizations that collect and send in old cell phones. Melancon has a decade of experience in the wireless industry, having owned retail stores and served as sales manager for a rural carrier in Northern California. He joined RMS in California, but transferred to the companyÂs corporate headquarters in Ocala during the summer. About RMS Communications Group Inc.
