SchoolFair.tv Debuts on Web; DigiNovations Launches America's Showcase for Private High School Admissions Videos

SchoolFair.tv launched a website today which showcases admissions videos from the top private secondary schools in America. The service is free to both prospective students and participating schools. The service was created by DigiNovations, the award-winning producer of films for admissions and fundraising for both secondary schools and colleges.

Concord, MA (PRWEB) October 3, 2005 -- SchoolFair.tv made its official debut on the world wide web today, giving students and their families a powerful new tool for experiencing life on the campuses of America's top private secondary schools. The free website, whose address is http://www.schoolfair.tv, also offers free video hosting and research to participating schools. The site was created by DigiNovations, the award-winning producer of films for admissions and fundraising, based in Concord, Massachusetts.

"Video is once again becoming an important part of the marketing mix for private secondary schools," observed SchoolFair's creator, Michael Kolowich, the Emmy-award-winning executive producer of DigiNovations. "This trend is being driven directly by prospective students and their families, who are increasingly plugged in to broadband, video-capable internet connections in their homes and schools."

"We wanted to make it easy for schools to participate in this trend, making their informational videos available to audiences that go well beyond the visitors to their sites," said Kirstin Lynde, editorial director of SchoolFair.tv. "It's our contribution to the private school community, which is an important part of our client base."

Schools which become free charter members of the SchoolFair.tv network will benefit from general research which SchoolFair.tv conducts among viewers of school videos. More detailed research results will be available to schools who are production clients of DigiNovations.

"The ubiquity of the internet should make any school reconsider its marketing mix, and now video is very much a part of that mix," said Tony Klemmer, Assistant Headmaster at Portsmouth Abbey School (Portsmouth, Rhode Island). "SchoolFair.tv will help us deliver Portsmouth Abbey's story to many more prospective students and their families. We're looking forward to benefitting from SchoolFair.tv's reesearch as we plan a new admissions video initiative this year."

"Today's students and families use many sources beyond the viewbook to explore private high school options," observed Derek Boonisar, Secondary School Placement Director at The Fenn School (Concord, Massachusetts). "SchoolFair.tv combines the reach of the web with the experiential power of video to convey a real sense of a school. I'm looking forward to using SchoolFair.tv with our students and parents to help open their minds to the many choices of good secondary schools."

The site debuts with videos and virtual tours from more than 50 schools in three regions of the country -- New England, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast. The remaining regions of the country will be opened on SchoolFair.tv during the course of the current academic year.

Detailed information for schools wishing to participate in SchoolFair.tv is posted at http://www.schoolfair.tv/addschool.html.
